My Life In Kagawa – Japan

bits and pieces, here and there in Kagawa

weekend away in Ehime

We had a great and enjoyable weekend. A unique one which I don’t think eaither one of us will ever forget except ToTut… a beautiful experience and the last witnessed. I have only read and seen it on TV. But last weekend was a beautiful experience to have witnessed and be a part of the whole ceremony.

Weekend Highlights
We got picked up by Teru (Rods best friend) at 4pm on a dull and drizzly Friday. another hour drive to pick his beautiful soon to be wife, Chearu. it was during the drive i realized my camera was malfunctioning. I knew deep down that i was going to miss out big time to capture every moments of the celebration. Oh, my poor camera…hope i get you fixed soon.

Then another hour fourty minutes drive to Ehime prefecture. Teru is from Ehime and Chearu is from Kagawa. In Ehime, the lovely couple took us to a Japanese restaraunt where we were served Japanese food. I could not believe my eyes when our orders where brought to us… it was a plate, a tray like size plate. What caught my attention was the 11cm (am gussing) huge lobster. then followed by a big cup full of biru every one’s favourate. I was the last to finally finish my contents on my plate. Then straight to Teru’s parents home at around 8pm.

The next day (Saturday) was dull and still drizzly… we all kept our fingers crossed it wont spoil the day. By 10am, the bride and groom left to get themselves ready.
By 2 pm the ceremony was to start, the wheather was on our side to every ones delight. The drizzles were gone, dull and perfect.

Teru and Chearu had a tradtional Japanese wedding in a Shrine. The wedding was witnessed by family and close friends. We were
very happy to be part of the ceremony.
Both were dressed in traditional clothes called Kimono. I thought the bride looked so angelic in the creamy white wedding kimono. Very beautiful. After the photo shootings outside, the bride and groom where led into the shrine with their family members. We were asked join them in too. Inside the shrine the ceremony was conducted by a priest. After thirty minutes, the ceremony was over. congratulation messages were exchanged as more clcks and snaps and lights came flashing. and slowly the couple where led outside welcomed by friends and onlookers.

I was so angry and frustrated with my self fo not having my camera.

The normal tradtional Japanese wedding is long, but this is how Teru wants their wedding to be like. His version and style, yet Japanese.
to be continued….
